I met Megan at her lovely home on April 2nd, 2017.  We spent some time talking about her, her family, and her pregnancy so far. We spent some time going through the different print products I offer and leafing through one of my sample albums. We talked about the flow of the upcoming Maternity session and confirmed the date.

She and her husband were so excited about the impending arrival of their baby boy, due on May 9th.  The couple were already parents to Paisley, an adorable little girl who couldn’t wait to be a big sister.  Megan was glowing at 33 weeks and felt very comfortable during our session.  Paisley seemed totally at ease in front of the camera, sweetly kissing her mommy’s belly, and grinning with a golden crown on her head.  This little girl had so much personality and beautiful bright eyes!

Her mom chose to wear a green maternity gown and white lace dress for the shoot and the contrast of the colors in the outfits allowed for two unique looks for the photos.  She wanted to incorporate a bedtime book as a prop which added another personal element to the prints.  Megan was going for a soft & maternal look for the photos and they turned out beautifully!

Thankfully, this seasoned mama-to-be had a smooth pregnancy, all while taking care of Paisley at home.  It helped that she had a wonderful, supportive partner by her side throughout this pregnancy; he even surprised her with a maternity massage.  So thoughtful and sweet!

Her favourite things to do during pregnancy were swimming, prenatal yoga and eating of course!  Megan’s advice for other expecting mothers for their sessions? “Don’t bring clothes to the session; Jennifer has everything you need and will direct you if you are having a photoshoot including other children.”

The couple has chosen to name their baby boy “Cade” because “It is different, but simple, not over-the-top, and strong.” I love their choice and am looking forward to photographing their little man in the future.
