Matthew & Kamilah’s Mississauga wedding and reception were held on July 29, 2017 at C Banquets . I had the pleasure of meeting these two before their big day, as I did their engagement session at the Hamilton Beachfront earlier in the year. Click here to view their engagement session blog!
Their wedding was a fun Saturday morning family brunch and was exactly the kind of day they had hoped for. These two decided to maintain some traditions and forgo seeing each other before the wedding. Being apart made them appreciate being together that much more!
Kamilah was nervous about getting everything done before the wedding and told me that she “underestimated just how busy life gets before a wedding.” She was actually working on the photo slide show the morning of the wedding, but everything worked out on the big day! She tells other couples, “You can plan and plan and plan and things can still not work out the way you want on your wedding day. Being upset that something didn’t work out the way you wanted will only ruin a perfectly awesome day. Just roll with whatever comes your way on your wedding day; you are in charge of your own happiness!” Great advice!
Matthew & Kamilah’s happiness sure showed through the photos from their wedding day! The couple enjoyed vegan cupcakes from Kelly’s Bake Shoppe and 2 beautiful cakes from friends. The first was from Kamilah’s friend Lisa at Sweet Art and the second was a Jamaican Black Cake made by a family friend. What a selection to choose from!
The music during the ceremony was from a playlist created by Kamilah’s cousin, who is a DJ. Her dress was purchased from Davids Bridal in Mississauga. She knew it was the right one because it was “pretty and comfortable”. The bride’s bouquet came from Monarch Florists in Mississauga. Monarch also did the flowers for the reception, boutonnieres and corsages. The bride and groom’s wedding backdrop was made by Dream Occasions and they also provided decor. C Banquets provided all food and beverages. They had a completely customizable menu and are not afraid to go off-menu if you ask nicely! All the pieces came together for a perfect day!
When I asked the couple what their favourite moment from the wedding was, the response I received was “everything!” I couldn’t have gotten a better answer! I wish you both all the best in your new future together!
